There were countless things that stuck out to me about Glenn, Karrie, and their wedding, but at the top of the list, Glenn & Karrie are two of the most genuine, deep, hilarious, thoughtful, goofy, real, beautiful people I’ve met. And they adore each other.
Some of my favorite things about their wedding:
First things first, you know its going to be a good day when right when you come through the door you’re told to eat.
Speaking of Karrie & Glenn’s generosity, thoughtfulness, and sensitivity to others, one of the first things Karrie said to me was, “I have a present for you!”. She bought me a new scarf camera strap. And I LOVE it!
Karrie’s flower crown was absolutely droolworthy.
Glenn is KING of sweet gestures- always sneaking kisses on Karrie’s cheek, forehead, shoulder, etc.
A few weeks before the wedding, Karrie’s matron of honor contacted me informing me of a ceramic chicken that is involved in a long time joke. She asked if we could sneakily insert the chicken in some photographs without Karrie knowing. I enthusiastically agreed because, well, its a ceramic chicken.
Glenn & Karrie have the sweetest puppy. They named him Grandpa. “Glenn, Grandpa peed on the carpet again!” “Karrie, Grandpa want’s to play fetch!” *insert ‘laugh so hard you’re crying’ emoji
The vibrant wildflower bouquets were just exquisite. (Wildflowers were my wedding flowers, so they hold a special place in my heart.)
The entire wedding was held at Karrie’s Aunt & Uncle’s stunning home. Complete with horses, a pool, strung lights, barns, woods, meadows, and the kindest and most hard-working kids ever.
Glenn made the bar for the wedding (see far below).
Karrie’s tattoos were on point.
Karrie rode up on a carriage pulled by horses….magicallllll.
The grandmas wore flowers in their hair.
Karrie’s bridesmaids sang during the ceremony and I have only one word about that: ANGELIC.
Glenn & Karrie wrote their own vows (which were so freaking good), and Karrie began hers with a nonchalant , “Glenn, thanks for comin’.”
The wedding party threw sprinkles as Karrie & Glenn entered the reception. Glenn caught them and ate them during the process.
Karrie plays the guitar and the ukulele and surprised Glenn by singing Noah and the Whale’s song, “Five Years Time”. She wrote her own lyrics and was accompanied by all of her bridesmaids (and one bridesmaid’s husband) singing, dancing, and playing various instruments . Including a kazoo. “In 5 years time…you’ll be balding. In 5 years time…we’ll have 10 puppies…” etc.
Glenn’s little brother is currently serving in Iraq. He sent his speech to Glenn’s twin sister to read for him.
K & G, your day was just the BEST. And I am so glad to have been a small part of it. Give Grandpa a good pet from me.
“Her eyes have their own vocabulary. What a beautiful language to learn.”
